I've lived outside Detroit my entire life and Pines Theatre is hands-down my favorite place in Michigan! The building was designed by the same architect that did the Fox Theatre in Detroit and you can tell. The building has not been altered, other than upkeep, since it's original construction. It is beautifully decorated inside and out and is truly a sight that is worth the ticket prices (which are comparatively low), regardless of the movie that's playing. The theatre offers popcorn and candy options for snacks and drink choices at reasonable costs. It is important to note that only one movie plays at the theatre every few weeks and that there is only one showing per day, except on occasional weekends in which there are two. To me, this adds to the experience of the old-style theatre but could be a negative for others. I cannot recommend Pines Theatre enough, nor can my words describe the astonishing experience that is guaranteed here!

Beautiful & Unique theater lots of history & up north nature. Very nice place to visit when in town.
A cool, lodge-themed theater showing first-run films. Not your typical boring, anonymous theater. This place is pure Michigan. Grab popcorn and a drink from the snack bar, settle in, and enjoy a show!
Wish they had more than one showin a day :(
